Animex South East Asia!

Hello everyone! Sorry we've been quiet for so long!

Back in September I was asked to speak at the Animex Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference was hosted by KDU university on their new Glenmarie campus.

It was very exciting to go somewhere I've never been before, so far away and exotic. Kuala Lumpur is a 12.5 hour flight away from London, a journey of 6549 miles!

I did a talk about Kitty Powers' Matchmaker in a very pink outfit. The talk was about how the game became popular on Youtube, and why that is.

I also gave a Masterclass in character design with a group of students. We went through all the things that can feed into a character design, then we played a game where we 'procedurally generated' design briefs that we created characters from.

They did really well and came up with some cool character designs :-) Pictures below!

Kitty Powers' Matchmaker/Minecraft Fan Art!

Something amazing happened last night.

I was getting ready for bed and I got a message on Facebook. It was from a fan of Kitty Powers' Matchmaker. As I scrolled down the messages I had the biggest nerdgasm ever and my heart melted.

Uriel López from Querétaro, México has sent us none other than 'Kitty Powers Matchmaker in the style of Minecraft' Fan Art!

Now that we know Kitty Powers looks good in pixels (thanks to Dan Emmerson) AND voxels there'll be no stopping her!

It really touches our hearts when someone takes the trouble to make fan art of our creation. Kitty almost cried! Except that she had her tear ducts removed to stop her make up running.

The gauntlet has been thrown down now! Can YOU beat Uriel's effort? How many other nerdy things can Kitty Powers be rendered in the style of?

Our imaginations boggle!

We posted this a little while ago on Facebook, but in the spirit of teasing you about the new Fan Art we have to show you in a little while, we thought we'd post this here!

A little while ago we asked our friend Dan Emmerson (@DoodleDemmy on Twitter) to come up with his idea for what Kitty Powers would look like as an old school point and click adventure and here's what he came up with!

What's more we turned it into a profile background and 5 new emoticons for you to collect on Steam! You lucky things!

Kitty will be pleased! She DOES look good in pixels after all!

We'll be posting the new FAN ART that we got in a little while! Can you bear the anticipation? lol

RuPaul's Drag Race UK Ambassador

Hello kittens!

As as you may or may not know, RuPaul's Drag Race has just started airing on terrestrial TV in the UK on a channel called TruTV.

In order to celebrate, TruTV held a competition to find the RuPaul's Drag Race UK Ambassador and Ms Kitty was a finalist!

In order to get that far Kitty had to submit a video, introducing herself and doing a lip synch of one of RuPaul's songs.

The final took place at the end of May at the Cafe de Paris in London, where Kitty had to compete with twenty other queens in front of Katie Price, Jonathon Ross and RuPaul herself!

Sadly Kitty didn't win but she had a wonderful time sashaying down the catwalk in front of one of her idols! Take a look at the clips below and see if you can spot Kitty!

Congrats to The Vivienne for winning the crown and to all the other queens for being so lovely!
